Prince Louis celebrated his birthday this week

To mark his special day, Kate and William shared an adorable photo of their youngest child on social media.

Louis looked as happy as ever in the adorable snap.

The youngster's new portrait was taken by The Princess of Wales.

They captioned the snap: "Happy 6th Birthday, Prince Louis! Thank you for all the kind wishes today."

Fans of the royal couple couldn't help but gush about the photo.

One wrote: "Love the Princess of Wales's typically calm and serene style of photography. Happy 6th Birthday Prince Louis!"

"Wishing this sweet little prince the happiest of the birthdays," another said.

Another said: "How precious! What a cute lovely smile! Happy 6th birthday Prince Louis! Thanks for sharing a new photo with us Princess."

This is one of the first times the new parents have spoken out following the mum-of-three's cancer diagnosis.

Kate confirmed she has cancer on March 22nd. The mum announced the devastating news in an emotional video online.

Kate revealed she was diagnosed with cancer after a planned abdominal surgery in January 2024.

The mum said she is currently receiving treatment for cancer.

In the video, Princess Kate said: "The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.

"My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment."

"William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family," Kate added.
