The one thing Prince William did during split from Kate Middleton that made her ‘miserable’

Uh oh.

  Prince William and Kate Middleton's relationship seems like the stuff fairytales were made of, but even the royal couple have experienced their share of problems. A little more than a decade ago - back in 2007  - the pair split for a few months, before the reconciled and later got engaged in 2010. Although, it turns out that this wasn't the first time the couple had separated: they reportedly split in 2004 during a summer break from university. The now Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had a "trial separation" during this time after William is believed to have wanted space. The Express report that the book, 'The Duchess of Cambridge: How Kate Middleton Became A Future Queen', reveals William went on holiday with Guy Pelly, one of his best friends and the godfather to Prince Louis. The author of the book claims that Kate was "miserable" when she found out about this, as Guy had hired an all-female crew for the trip. The now Duchess of Cambridge is said to have packed her bags and returned to Berkshire, where she spent the summer with her family and friends. The book claims that one night, Kate "let her guard down" around her friends when discussing her relationship with the Prince. A source claiming to be one of Kate's friends revealed:

“She got quite drunk on white wine and really let her guard down. She was debating whether or not she should text or call him. “She said how sad she was and how much she was missing William but she never mentioned it after that.”
