Priyanka Chopra responds to criticism over the dress she wore to her bridal shower

Priyanka Chopra has responded to the criticism she is facing over the dress she wore for her bridal shower. The actress' wedding to Nick Jonas is reportedly just around the corner (it is rumoured to be taking place in December, FYI) - and, over the weekend, she had one stellar-looking bridal shower. She celebrated with some of her nearest and dearest friends and family members at Tiffany's Blue Box Café in New York City. While social media photos of the festivities are pretty much non-existent (bar the ones that Chopra herself shared afterwards), there are a few pictures of her arriving at the event. https://www.instagram.com/p/BpiN5z1nJAn/ For the evening, she wore a strapless Marchesa gown with feathered detailing on the skirt. Her dress sent social media users into a frenzy - although not for the right reasons. Georgina Chapman is the co-founder of Marchesa. A number of celebrities have shied away from wearing the brand recently in the wake of a number of assault allegations against her ex-husband, Harvey Weinstein. However, Priyanka defending her decision to wear the gown during an interview with Women's Wear Daily. She said:

“Georgina’s a friend of mine - and it’s not her fault. Chopra continued “I don’t think it is right to take it out on a self-made woman what somebody in her life did. That’s the wrong attitude. [And] that was a beautiful gown, and deserved to be worn by a bride-to-be. “It made me feel like a princess. It was the right choice.”
