Rebekah Vardy ‘files court papers’ against Coleen Rooney following Wagatha Christie controversy

Rebekah Vardy has reportedly filed court papers against Coleen Rooney following last year's Wagatha Christie controversy. The footballer's wife was accused of selling stories about Coleen to the press, a claim that was revealed via a wild and unprecedented social media post. Coleen revealed that she had set up a fake 'close friends' list on Instagram, which she allegedly only gave Rebekah's account access to. She then posted a series of fake updates, only to discover that they were reported in the press soon afterwards. At the time, Rebekah denied the accusations and questioned why Coleen would out her this way, "especially when I'm heavily pregnant." Now, it appears as though she is taking further steps to clear her name - by filing High Court papers against Coleen in a lawsuit reportedly costing £1 million. According to Mail Online, Rebekah has filed the paperwork claiming that Coleen slandered her online. The lawsuit is expected to cost each party approximately £500,000. This comes after both women reportedly engaged in a video conference in a bid to put the Wagatha Christie controversy to rest, an attempt that evidently............. did not work. A source told The Sun: "It’s not about money. As far as Becky is concerned, she wants her costs and vindication. "But since Coleen still refuses to agree to an apology, she’s gone ahead with filing the paperwork at the High Court.

"It’s a very expensive thing to do and the expectation is costs could run towards half a million pounds for each side but she’s completely determined to clear her name at any cost."

Neither Rebekah nor Coleen have addressed the filing of the court papers on social media yet.
