A royal insider has responded to reports Meghan Markle is set to do a tell-all interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

Reports emerged on Friday claiming that the Duchess of Sussex would soon be sitting down with the chat show host for an interview, weeks after stepping back from as a senior member of the royal family. However, a royal source told PEOPLE that any plans for Meghan to be interviewed by Ellen (or any interviewer) are "categorically untrue". Meghan and Ellen first met a few years ago, when both were visiting a dog shelter in Los Angeles. The royal insider's comments come as the actor turned Duchess is said ot have been telling those nearest and dearest to her that she's planning to speak to friend Ellen all about her life since becoming a part of the royal family - and subsequently leaving it. According to Mail Online, the interview will most likely take place at a "top secret location." "Ellen and Meghan have already discussed a sit-down interview. That's been in the works for quite some time now," a source from The Ellen Show said.

"[Meghan] said Ellen understands her pain and suffering. That she epitomizes authenticity. [Meghan] feels like they are kindred spirits.

"Ellen getting the first shot at an in-depth interview is surely going to put Oprah's - (and Gayle King's) nose out of joint. After all, Oprah wooed Meghan's mother by having her spend the day in Montecito, wrangled an invite to the wedding and has been pretty vocal in her support of the couple's decision to break away."
