Ryan Murphy accused of breaking college fund promise to Naya Rivera’s son

The Glee creator has since responded to the accusation.

The father of the late Glee star Naya Rivera has said that producer Ryan Murphy has not fulfilled his promise to support the actress' five year-old son. When Naya Rivera passed a way in July last year, Glee creator Murphy pledged to set up a college fund for her young son Josey. However, George Rivera has indicated that Ryan Murphy has broken that promise. In a series of tweets, Rivera suggested that the promise of a college fund was "shallow". "Everyone needs to know what Ryan Murphy really did...or didn't do," he said. "I'm about to blow up this story and make sure he knows that I know..." He continued: "When you are part of the Hollywood elite, some people treat others as they are 'less than'." "Vocalize a good game, but it's as shallow as the sets on stage that they create. Promises made in public only to fade with time and excuses...even in an unexplainable tragedy."   In a third tweet he wrote: "Broken promises...fake outrage...no phone call." Ryan Murphy quickly responded to the suggestion and denied breaking the college fund promise. In a tweet, the TV producer wrote: "Myself, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan have committed to create a college fund for Naya Rivera's child Josey through the Naya Rivera Estate Trust." He continued: "We have been in repeated conversations with the appropriate executors of her estate." Naya Rivera tragically passed away last summer. The Glee star died while renting a pontoon boat with her four year-old son on Lake Piru in California. Naya was declared missing after Josey was found sleeping alone on the boat. Her body was found five days later. Authorities confirmed that she had drowned. They believe that she died after saving her young son.
