This is why you won’t see replicas of Meghan Markle’s engagement ring

Fans across the globe have been pining for everything from Meghan Markle's beauty secrets to her white wrap coat from her engagement photo call. Not to mention her engagement ring itself. But for anyone hoping for their own replica of the three-diamond band, we're afraid we've got some bad news. The jeweller who created the eye-catching piece Prince Harry used to propose to the 36-year-old has said they won't be making any replicas of it - despite the requests to do so. Director of Cleave and Company Stephen Connelly told the Associated Press the focus on the former Suits star's ring had been "a bit of a shock" since the engagement announcement last month. He said:

“We’re not going to be making replicas of it. “If you want a ring, then we’ll design you a different one.”

Prince Harry worked alongside Connelly's team, who are the jewellers to Queen Elizabeth, to design the ring himself. And the three-diamond yellow gold engagement ring has particularly sentimental value for the 33-year-old royal. The two stones on the side are from the personal collection of his late mother, Princess Diana. Meanwhile, the diamond in the middle is from Botswana, a country which is close to his heart. Harry previously said during their engagement interview that he chose to include the smaller diamonds so his mum could be with them "on this crazy journey together". Cleave and Company's David Thomas, a former Crown Jeweller who looked after the royal family's jewels, admitted that working on the ring with Prince Harry had been the "biggest and hardest" secret he had to keep in his life. He said he has has since been bombarded with questions about the ring - including the overall cost - but declined to answer. He added:

“Jewelers are like doctors: we never discuss our patients!”
