Vanessa Hudgens has given the reason why she broke up with Zac Efron

She revealed why she and Zac split.

When you're young and bored it's easy to get caught up in celebrity couples. The smallest thing they say or do together makes you wonder will you ever be a half of a couple that other people idolise and are inspired by. One couple that we all adored and worshipped the ground they walked on were Troy and Gabriella from High School Musical. The relationship between the pair onscreen made us all swoon but it was the relationship between Vanessa and Zac in real life that really piqued the media's interest. The pair met in 2005 on the set of the first High School Musical film and went on to be together for 5 years. But according to Sugarscape, it seems fame had a part to play in the pair's union breaking up. Vanessa confessed

"I went through a phase when I was really mean because I was so fed up. "Girls were running after him, and I was giving them death stares. Then I realised that's not what that's about."
