Batten down the hatches: 120km/h gusts expected as Storm Dylan arrives

With many of us waking up to conditions of minus 4C, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Leitrim, Cork, Limerick, and Tipperary in particular were told to be on alert. Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Louth, Westmeath, and Meath will be the worst impacted. Met Éireann stated: "Storm Dylan is expected to affect Ireland on Saturday night/early Sunday morning. "Its expected track is northeastwards through Donegal Bay and up along the north-Ulster coast. The biggest impact from the storm will be across Connacht and Ulster where mean winds will reach speeds of 60 to 80 km/h with gusts of up to 120km/h." Earlier on Friday, a status yellow wind warning was also issued for south Wexford, Galway, north Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and south Waterford; it will remain in effect until 1pm.
