Earlier on Friday, a status yellow wind warning was also issued for south Wexford, Galway, north Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and south Waterford; it will remain in effect until 1pm.
Wind speeds of between 50 and 65km/h and gusts between 90 and 110km/h are also forecast in some places.
