Gardaí said in a statement:
"Following the recovery of a body on the shore, south of Wicklow town, Co. Wicklow this afternoon Tuesday 15th February, 2022 the missing person appeal in respect of Helen Owens, 82 years, has been stood down.
"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter. No further action is required and no further information is available at this time."
On Tuesday, an urgent appeal to help find Helen was issued to the public.
