Add us as a preferred source on Google »Daniel O'Donnell has confirmed he is taking a break from his career due to ongoing health issues.
The singer explained that he is not retiring and intends to continue his commitments until December 2025.
A spokesperson for the singer said Daniel did not make this decision lightly.
They issued a statement:
"After much reflection, Daniel has decided to take an extended break from touring. This decision was not made lightly."
"It is driven by the health challenges he has faced over the past few years, particularly with allergies and recurrent chest infections while touring extensively.”
The spokesperson said the break is to help him recover.
"This pause is essential for him to recharge and recover. He emphasises that ‘this is not a retirement but rather a temporary break."
Earlier this year, the singer was forced to address claims he was very unwell in the hospital.
"I have seen a few pictures up leading people to believe that I’m in hospital, very unwell with a picture of me and obviously that’s a fake, doctored picture telling people that I need help. So please ignore all of these things that you see on Facebook."
"I am very well and I hope that you’re well too. We can’t do much about these scammers but all we can do is to let you know not to engage with them, never reply to them and, above all, never, ever send them money."
