Reports have stated that Galvin was not seriously injured by the incident, and continued to play the remainder of the game which ended in a tie at 0-11 apiece.
A statement by the Kerry county committee read: “The CCC of the Kerry county committee is awaiting the referee’s report before deciding what course of action to take following an incident that took place as players and officials made their way onto the field of play for the start of the second half in today’s senior hurling championship final.”
Paul has had a shining career with the GAA, making his debut for Kerry in 2003 and winning four All-Irelands, seven Munster titles and three All-Stars since.
The incident took place at Austin Stack Park in Tralee, Co. Kerry and fans were quick to take to Twitter about the incident.
