The lucky ticket was sold at El Mirador Shopping Centre in Las Palmas in Gran Canaria.
The massive prize had been accumulating after no player matched five numbers and two lucky stars in the twice-weekly draws since the start of September.
The winning numbers were 01, 09, 15, 19 and 25, while the Lucky Stars were 01 and 07.
The National Lottery has already confirmed that that half a million ticket was bought at Barry's Mace store in Blackwater, Ardnacrusha in Co Clare.
The shop's owner, Lance O’Neill, said: "It’s a small village and it would be lovely if it was somebody local who has won."
