Court documents show that Lindt has asked for the money to be reimbursed but that they have yet to receive their payment.
They read:
“Lindt and the Weinstein Company (TWC) agreed Lindt would pay TWC in return for sponsorship benefits at three specified TWC events. Lindt paid TWC, but the final of the promised TWC events was cancelled. “TWC personnel acknowledged TWC’s breach and that it owes Lindt. But TWC continues to retain Lindt’s payments."
This lawsuit is the latest to be filed against Weinstein and his company.
This month, the New York Attorney General said that he would be suing the company for “egregious violations of New York's civil rights, human rights and business laws."
Last year, multiple police departments in the US and the UK announced that they were investigating Weinstein based on sexual abuse allegations put forward by seven women.
The LAPD were also investigating an alleged rape reported by an unnamed actress.
