Met Éireann predict that we’re in for a rather dull and rotten day

It's not looking great, to be honest.

The weather hasn't been the best as of late with rain washing us out on every corner we turn. Temperatures around the country have gotten noticeably cooler as well which means we've been wrapping up in our winter woollies. Met Éireann has predicted that today will not be any better with blustery showers and winds being "strong and gusty." The weather forecaster said: "Blustery and noticeably cooler today, Tuesday, with sunny spells and showers. Some of the showers will be heavy with a risk of thunder, most frequent in north and west.

"Top temperatures 12 to 15 degrees. Southwesterly winds will be generally fresh to strong and gusty, but localised gale force winds will occur about western parts of Connacht and Ulster at first today, before easing somewhat later this afternoon." Temperatures will drop to around 7 degrees tonight - and the rain isn't gong anywhere. "Showers will continue to occur tonight, especially over the western half of the country. Southwest winds will be mostly moderate inland but fresh to strong and gusty near some coasts, especially in the west and northwest. Lows of 7 to 9 degrees." Brace yourselves.
