Met Éireann say we’re in for a sunny day; but we’ll see heavy rain tomorrow

It's not looking too shabby.

Apart from the odd shower or two, the bank holiday weekend wasn't too bad and it looks like that weather will continue into today. Met Éireann has predicted that while you might see a "few showers" over coastal counties, it will be mainly dry and sunny around the rest of the country. The weather forecaster said: "Frost will clear quickly this morning to leave a mainly dry day with sunny spells. However, a few showers will affect eastern and southern coastal counties during the day.

"Feeling cold in fresh easterly winds, which will be strong along windward coasts. Maximum temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees." As for tonight, there will be a few "outbreaks of rain and drizzle" but again, there will be clear spells elsewhere. "Breezy tonight with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading to southern coastal districts. Elsewhere, it will be mainly dry with some clear spells and just isolated showers. "Minimum temperatures of between 1 and 4 degrees in midland and northern counties but ranging 5 to 8 degrees elsewhere. Moderate easterly breezes over land but fresh to strong at the coast." However, tomorrow will be a different story as rain will turn heavy across some part of the country. "Rain will spread across Munster and parts of south Leinster on Wednesday, turning heavy in southern coastal areas. It looks set to remain predominantly dry elsewhere drying daylight hours with just the odd passing shower. Rain will extend nationwide during the evening. "Fresh to strong east or southeast winds and the best of any sunny spells will be in Ulster. Maximum temperatures ranging 9 to 13 degrees."
