These new CT scanners costing £50 million will be rolled out across all Heathrow terminals by 2022. With the new scanners featuring state of the art technology, passengers will also be allowed leave laptops and tablets in their bags too - success.
Chris Garton, chief operating officer at Heathrow spoke to BBC News saying:
The 100ml requirement came in across the world in 2006 as a terror precaution."This cutting-edge equipment will not only keep the airport safe with the latest technology but will also mean that our future passengers can keep their focus on getting on with their journeys and spend less time preparing for security screening."
