Currently, the Irish rental market is in dire straits. According to Daft, the market is plagued with ‘chronic supply shortages’ and an increase in average rent nationwide of 9.3% in the year to March 2016.
It doesn’t take an economist or a rental expert to see that there is a case of supply not meeting demand here in Dublin and this is highlighted by the ridiculous living situations of many students and foreigners who often squeeze five or six people into one room.
