The weekend marks Kate’s first major return to royal engagements since completing chemotherapy in September.
Her recent appearances have been quiet yet meaningful, showing her commitment to her role even while prioritising recovery.
Last month, she met with a young cancer patient and aspiring photographer, Liz Hatton, at Windsor Castle, and later joined Prince William in Southport to thank emergency responders who treated victims of a tragic mass stabbing at a Taylor Swift-themed dance event earlier this year.
Remembrance Sunday holds a long-standing significance for Kate, who has attended the ceremony annually since her marriage to Prince William in 2011.
She even took part in the event during each of her pregnancies with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Buckingham Palace has also announced that King Charles, Prince William, Prince Edward, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent, will be present for this year’s Remembrance events.
Queen Camilla’s attendance is still uncertain as she recovers from a chest infection.
While Kate is slowly reengaging with royal duties, she’s reportedly also feeling stronger in her recovery journey.
Royal biographer Robert Jobson shared with Hello! magazine that Kate is back at the gym and regaining her usual energy.
“From what I understand, Catherine is doing very well. She is back training at the gym and doing all the things she wanted to do,” Jobson said, adding that he expects her to balance select public engagements with private family time.
Rather than resuming her duties at a full pace, Jobson predicts that Kate will focus on major events and causes that matter most to her, while ensuring she spends quality time with her family.
“Her focus will be on her family, while still managing to do the key events,” he explained. “William is very keen that she stages a gradual return, but it likely won’t mean a rush of back-to-back engagements.”
