Toy Show star Saoírse sadly passed away on March 5th, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.
In an interview with Ireland AM, the brave mum spoke out about the complexities of navigating grief.
The mum explained that you can never understand the pain of losing a child until it happens to you.
She shared:
"There’s such a massive void in the house. Like, her wellies are still in the basket where she left them; you open the press, her camogie boots are still there.
"I can’t take her, delete her bit by bit. Her room is still there as she left it, and you live with that every day even though you know."
Her mum explained she often feels guilty for living, but her other daughter, Farrah Rose, needs her.
She added, "It brings me to ask myself, 'How did we get out of bed today? And how did we function? And how did we do as much as we do?” And you get this guilt of living and functioning but then, Farrah Rose deserves…."
Roseanna has launched an event in honour of Saoírse and to support other grieving families.
Roseanna Ruane returns with another heartfelt evening of comfort and connection for those navigating grief.
An Evening with Roseanna and Friends will take place on Friday, May 31st at 7 pm in the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth, offering a safe, supportive space to honour loss, share stories, and find strength through community.
