Tributes paid to young mum tragically killed in Roscommon car crash

Liga died in a crash in Roscommon.

Tributes have been paid to a young mum who was tragically killed in a road crash in Co. Roscommon. 35-year-old Liga Smolaka passed away following the crash. She was rushed to hospital, but despite the doctor's best efforts, she was pronounced dead at Castlebar Hospital. She is survived by her partner Andrejs and their daughter Viktorja. 27-year-old Daniel Dolphin was also killed in the crash. Liga will be laid to rest on Thursday, March 17th. Tributes have been pouring in since Liga's heartbreaking death. Her partner wrote: "What it means to lose you. No one will ever know. We hold u close within our hearts and there you will remain. Liga's former employer said she was a "dedicated mother" as well as a "hard worker". "I just want you to know that in your too short and wonderful life... You left an imprint that not many could make." "What a wonderful human being." Centra in Maugheraboy also paid tribute to the mum. "Today Centra Maugheraboy mourns the loss of our dear friend and a past employee Liga Smolaka. They shared that Liga worked there for seven years and was a "leading member" of management. She was also respected and loved by customers and staff. "Liga had quite a presence in our shop, she was always working hard, but one thing for sure is that she always had a great love for her family and friends. They added that she "was always reaching out to those who needed a hand". A fundraiser has since been set up in support of Liga's daughter.
